Chulabhorn Graduate Institute was established in 2005 by Chulabhorn Foundation to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the 4th Birthday cycle of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn. The foundation stone laying ceremony of the building of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute was organized on the 1st of March, 2007 by Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn.

CGI granted 4 degrees in 2008 to Miss Pacharin Kamolkijkarn (Master of Science in Chemical Biology) , Miss Thitawan Prasertdee (Master of Science in Chemical Biology) , Dr. Carolina Rusdy Akib (Master of Science in Environmental Toxicology), and Miss Nantaporn Ruangkiattikul (Master of Science in Environmental Toxicology)
CGI published 59 papers in 2018. The journals were rated by Impact Factor ranged from 11.613 to 0.9 ,
and 7 out of 59 articles appeared in journals with Impact Factor 5.0 plus. These are:

This year CGI, among Thai universities, achieved the top TRF – Index which rates the high quality academic papers published in international journals by Thai universities.
TRF- Index judges from a composite index that averaged 3 indicators: ER5JP – Equivalent Rating 5 Journal Publication/ Faculty Member, Life-time Citation/Faculty Member and Life-time Citation/ Life-time Journal Publication. CGI publications ranking by TRF-Index are:

This is CGI website which has been created and launched in 2010. The web was designed by using WIKI Open Source technology. The owners of the information are responsible for updating and editing their own information. This concept has been effectively implemented especially for an institute such as CGI with a limited number of IT staff. Simple syntax can be learned quickly so non-IT staff can manage to make their pages updated at their own pace. The website owed to Dr. Anurat Chapanont from Chulabhorn Research Insitute – CRI for his dedicated effort which made the website easy to maintain and attractive enough for public viewers.
CGI published papers in international journals and cited in ISI Web of Science and Scopus databases.
Since 2007, CGI publications have been accepted to publish in international journals with Impact Factor higher than 2. The journals covered the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Phytochemistry, Tetrahedron, European Journal of Organic Chemistry, International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health, Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Chemistry- A European Journal, Infection and Immunity, Proteomics, and Food Chemistry.
CGI research programs were conducted in cooperation with CRI – Chulabhorn Research Institute.

2010 result searched in 2011 showed 28 articles and reference cited 54 times.
2009 result searched in 2010 showed 19 articles and reference cited 30 times.

2007 result searched in 2008 showed 13 articles and reference cited 41 times.

CGI, CRI and CCC executives together with lecturers and CGI students held a religious ceremony and made merit in the morning to celebrate the seven year anniversary of the establishment of CGI in order to show respect to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Her Majesty Queen Regent Sirikit and Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol on December 28th , 2012 at CGI building.
Then, in the afternoon, CGI had sports events to involve CGI lecturers, staff and students who were divided into 2 teams, orange and blue. There were many games and competitions, such as Spartan eating contest, tug of war , futsal etc. Additionally, the student union held lucky draw games for CGI students.

Every year CGI celebrates the Royal Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol on December 5th. CGI webpage displays the royal picture with poem written to commemorate the important event. CGI Learning Center presents the Exhibition, displays the royal literary works and publications related to His Majesty the King and the Royal Initiatives. Digital contents about the event are posted on CGI website and in Today’s Alert web column.
